Edmore Sango

Edmore Sango, born in 1977 in Guruve, comes from a renowned family of Shona artists, including the late Brighton Sango, Bywell, Chaitia, Onward, Munyaradzi, and Tafanana Sango. Inspired by his elders, Edmore started sculpting at a young age, initially as a hobby while attending Nyanhunzi Primary School and later Mainini High School.

In 1996, after completing his secondary education, Edmore made the decision to become a full-time artist. Recognized for his innovation and creativity, he became a treasure at the Sanganai Art Community in 1998. The community made significant contributions, including building classrooms, drilling boreholes, and improving local infrastructure in Chitaunhike village.

In 1998, Edmore was invited to join the Tengenenge Art Community by Tom Blomefield, where he worked for three years. He showcased his talent internationally through exhibitions and workshops in the Netherlands and Germany. Edmore's artwork has been displayed in numerous galleries worldwide, establishing him as one of Zimbabwe's finest third-generation sculptors.

Edmore's art style primarily focuses on abstract forms, including cubic shapes, rounded approaches, curving shapes, and abstract dancing figures. His sculptures exude happiness, reflecting his own joyful personality.
