Bywell Sango
Born in 1979, Bywell developed a passion for sculpting at a young age, greatly influenced by his late brother, Brighton Sango.
Throughout school breaks, Bywell assisted Brighton in the creation and completion of sculptures, leading him to adopt a similar cubic style. The competition between the Sango brothers has played a significant role in their individual artistic growth, resulting in subtly unique approaches.
Bywell's focus lies in perfecting his own interpretation of emotions and situations through abstract forms, particularly emphasizing a cubic aesthetic. Rather than drawing inspiration primarily from Shona mythology, he draws inspiration from the natural shape of the stone itself. Bywell's artistic achievements have been showcased worldwide, including exhibitions in Zimbabwe. His preferred choice of stones for sculpting includes Cobalt, Opal, Springstone, and Serpentine.
