Clever Monera

Clever Monera's artistic journey began in Zvimba area in 1978, where he developed an interest in art during his primary level education. At that time, he enjoyed molding animals, birds, plants, and figures.

In 1996, he discovered a new medium of stone carving through Fabian Madamombe at Chapungu sculpture Park, who taught him how to handle the tools properly.

While learning from Fabian, Dominic Benhura recognized his talent and later took him under his wing in 1998 as his student for a few years. Dominic taught him his unique styles and techniques that led him to become a professional artist.

His work reflects great initiative pieces with motion that effectively communicate ideas about volume, space, and form. His pieces make powerful statements about natural materials, both in the way they are created and the ideas and imagery inherent in sculptors.

He prefers opal, cobalt, serpentine, verdite, as well as hard springstone.

He has a desire to showcase his work all over the world.
