Remas. C

Remas. C was born in 1972 at St. Theresa Mission Hospital in Rusape. He is the eldest of six siblings: three boys and three girls. His parents' names are Ignatius and Phyllis Chiguware. Remas attended St. Theresa Mission School for his primary and secondary education, completing his Cambridge secondary education in 1991. During his schooling, he showed a keen interest in craftwork, which ultimately led him to sculpture.

After completing his education, Remas worked as a till operator at Paiva Investment for five years. During this time, he was introduced to stone carving by Chenjerai Chiripanyanga and began working as his assistant. He went on to work with Witness Bonjisi and Washington Musonza before venturing out on his own.

Remas initially specialized in carving figures, heads, and birds. However, in January 2015, he discovered a new art form focusing specifically on birds. His clients were so impressed with these bird sculptures that they became known as REMAS BIRDS.

Although he has not yet participated in any exhibitions outside of Zimbabwe, Remas hopes to showcase his work internationally in the future.
